DroneShield Protects IRONMAN 2017 World Championship

DroneShield, a leader in the emerging industry of drone security solutions, today announced that its products will be protecting the upcoming IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on 14 October 2017.

During the course of that event, over 2,000 athletes will embark on a 140.6-mile journey that presents the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit to earn the title of IRONMAN. Monitoring of drone activity at high profile mass events has become an important component of event management, similar to perimeter access control or participant credentialing. DroneShield’s products will be deployed to assist the Race Operations Center in determining where drones may be operating. Once drones are identified, the event’s security personnel will then make determinations on actions that are appropriate.

Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s Managing Director and CEO, said, “We are proud to be able to assist a high profile event like the IRONMAN World Championship in the field of drone security which has now firmly emerged as a must-have for event organizers and civil infrastructure operators, amongst many others. The Championship is a complex event, and the selection of DroneShield’s products for its aerial protection is a testament to the quality and capability of our product suite.”
