DroneOptID

AI-Powered Optical Detection, Identification and Tracking Software

Item Number: 409-1

DroneOptID software leverages advanced Computer Vision technology to detect, identify and track UAS targets in real time. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) model, developed specifically for UAS detection, works seamlessly with DroneShield’s range of best-in-class UAS detection and countermeasure devices.

Using geospatial and environmental data from other sensors, this software can accurately validate UAS threats. Once a potential drone is detected, the camera automatically focuses on it, employing DroneShield’s DroneOptID machine learning (ML) algorithms for target motion tracking and threat identification.

DroneOptID software enhances tracking accuracy for both manual or autonomous identification of UAS threats. The software assists operators in assessing drone characteristics such as payload, modifications and the effectiveness of countermeasures to ensure an appropriate response to the threat.

Features

A picture of a snowboarder going down a hill

Active Tracking

The software collates data from available sensors to validate UAS threats. Once the camera has the drone within its field of view, cutting-edge computer vision technology is used to identify and track the target.

Comprehensive Database

The DroneOptID model is trained on close to 100,000 individual samples to classify targets, with ongoing enhancements. Operators can access past detection events and retrieve camera recordings with DroneOptID overlay for high-quality evidence collection.

Flexible Deployment

DroneOptID supplements the SmartHub Mk3 to provide a self-enclosed hardware and software solution. The module can be installed in existing rack infrastructure or housed in a weatherproofed deploy case that allows for expedient installation.

Advantages

  • Sensor Fusion

Utilizes detection data from DroneShield or third-party radar and radio frequency (RF) detectors to accurately locate the target

  • Additional Data

Enhances the camera’s ability to provide accurate visual displays of moving targets, including payload, which is not always detectable by other sensors

  • Flight Prediction

Uses a proprietary flight prediction algorithm to assist tracking even when the target is inhibited from view

  • Computer Vision Technology

DroneShield employs the latest in computer vision technology to classify, localize and segment images

  • Confirmation

Allows operators to confirm if active countermeasures (electronic or kinetic) have effectively mitigated the UAS threat
