US Army Selection of C-UAS
Sydney Australia - 2 July 2020 - DroneShield Ltd (ASX:DRO or DRO.AU) (“DroneShield" or the “Company”) welcomes the recently released initial list of Counter-UAS (C-UAS) systems by the United States Army.
The list includes a range of acceptable C-UAS systems including fixed-site, mobile, and portable solutions, based on the systems fielded in previous years by the US Department of Defense (“US DoD”). This is the first step in US DoD’s effort to phase out previously fielded solutions which are redundant, outdated, or have performed less satisfactory for DoD, and move forward with those still relevant for the Warfighter.
DroneShield products were not a part of this initial review, since the Company’s products have only recently started being deployed by DoD users. With this year’s success, including contract awards by both US DoD and Federal Agencies, DroneShield is proud to support next generation C-UAS requirements for DoD with its emerging technology and mission essential solutions.
Most recently this month, the US DoD acquired multiple DroneShield DroneSentry systems to provide detect and defeat capabilities for base defense against rogue drones and drone swarms. These systems will be turned over to the DoD end user this quarter for its 24/7 protection from drone intrusions. DroneShield is pleased to continue its work with the US DoD, and to deliver innovative solutions, as the DoD now looks to test and field its next generation of C-UAS capabilities.
