DroneShield Unveils 3D Planning Tool for Designing Layered Counter-UAS Defenses

9 April 2025DroneShield is pleased to announce the release of a sophisticated online platform for building bespoke counterdrone (C-UAS) solutions for any location.

Hosted in the DroneShield Access Portal, the Planning Tool provides a way for customers to visualize the different elements that make up DroneShield’s layered C-UAS solution, such as coverage areas of its sensors. This helps with detailed arrangements to build a 3D custom layout to protect their prospective site(s), such as a military base or a civilian installation.

Creating plans via the Planning Tool is intuitive, letting an organization look ahead at their future needs, including detailed breakdowns of costs, power, and network requirements, across different potential options. Once one or more plans are chosen by the client, a few clicks can make it a reality. Products will be shipped, along with the required on-site installation and training to provide a comprehensive solution.

Existing customers can enjoy another new feature on the DroneShield Access Portal – a streamlined firmware updater. As larger organizations deploy more and more C-UAS sensors, DroneShield has provided this tool to more effectively manage the regular software updates delivered to keep every device on the cutting edge of performance in a constantly changing landscape. This makes it easier for clients to track their subscriptions and easily download the newest and most up-to-date AI models delivered every quarter. These updates allow every DroneShield product to perform at their best.

These additions follow the launch of the UAS Incident Platform within the Access Portal last month, reporting drone activities and emerging drone threats globally, to enhance situational awareness for its customers.

Angus Bean, DroneShield’s CTO, commented “The DroneShield Access Portal has always been a key differentiator for us, providing the shortest path between our R&D teams and the end user in the field. Anything that smooths out that process allows our customers to stay at the forefront of the race between drones and counterdrone technology. Opening this up to a two-way communication with the Planning Tool is a big step in keeping ahead of threats as they evolve around the world.”
