How To Protect From Terrorists, Protestors, Vandals or Disruptive Fans at Commercial Venues and Stadiums

Large-scale, and open-air events like those in sports stadiums and other commercial venues are becoming an increasing target for drones and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

With loose counterdrone laws and regulations surrounding UAS, it makes stadiums and commercial venues perfect for protestors, vandals, and even terrorists to fly over densely populated spaces without much recourse. UAS are also an excellent opportunity to illegally capture footage from events over these locations to avoid paying for tickets.

As well as commercial concern, there is a huge safety element if a drone were to crash or target such densely populated venues. Just last month in the UK, a championship football match was halted after only 5 minutes of play when a UAS was spotted overhead. Both teams were subsequently removed from the pitch due to safety concerns until the threat had been manually neutralised.

Given that games are currently being played without an audience due to COVID-19, under normal circumstances, the disruption and safety risk would have been far greater. So it is now more important than ever that we work to create counterdrone stadiums and install effective C-UAS across all major public venues.

Counterdrone Stadiums and Temporary C-UAS for Commercial Venues

DroneShield can help to build counterdrone stadiums by installing a range of world-leading C-UAS technology, which provides security that is simply out of reach of human guards, specifically when dealing with threats at height and large arenas or venues.

Our systems are able to ground UAS threats or return them to their pilots, record evidence of disruptions for legal use, and can provide venues with real-time C-UAS information both within and without their site.

Counterdrone stadiums and venues are safer and more secure for players, performers, and spectators alike, and with DroneShield’s easy-to-integrate C-UAS technology, all of that security is right there, ready to go.

Events with high controversy or entertainment value are targets for spying, harm, harassment or illegal recordings, but with DroneShield you can choose to temporarily rent our counterdrone technology for your event only.

Being easy to integrate with existing security protocols, DroneShield technology can be set up and taken down at speed, ensuring that temporary events spend as little time as possible without suitable C-UAS security.
